Andrew Humphrey > Competitions

In my spare time, I enter consumer competitions, usually those that require some creativity. I want to win holidays, money and cars, but I end up with all kinds of other things. I have written about consumer competitions around the world for Competitor's World magazine. I took a break from competitions for a few years when tie-breaker competitions fell out of fashion, but I recently started again.

One of my prizes made the national news as a classic "Silly Season" story when The Guardian newspaper wrote about my trip to Mexico under the headline More sex than splendour on Academy's Aztec holiday. The London Evening Standard picked up the on the story, and Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth wrote about it in her Mail on Sunday column. It even made the South African Sunday papers (scroll right down to the headline "Startled"...) Unbelievably, I also turned down interviews with BBC Radio 4's You and Yours and the Take a Break supermarket tabloid! Must have been a very slow news day.
